Restaurants!

This was a good week for restaurants! I have been working the past 6 weeks to find what I think are inexpensive restaurants with great food. We have spent far too much money for way too much mediocre cuisine, even bad coffee. It's NYC, we have just about decided to give up on acoustics for Carl.

buceo 95 - a small tapas place on W 95th stuffed with high tables and a bar. As we left, we could see the heavily "inked" chef via the pass through window working in a kitchen the size of ours. hmmm, one reason we go out to dinner. Chef said he had just changed the menu and it had been more chaotic than usual. stuffed dates! duck! calamari!

der Schwarz Kolner - Brooklyn, just like any neighborhood beer garden in Germany with pretzels and neighbors! great ambiance and German beers.

Flatbush Farm - Brooklyn. We found this after a play and because our destination restaurant was "out of food". This too was not possible for dinner but the hostess came out to the corner and offered us their restaurant menu at the bar tables. such excellent flavors - !bean dish, risotto, chicken!

Celeste - Amsterdam/84th & 85th, You have to search for the sign, no reservations, cash only. Marshall and Emily discovered it the week before. rolled eggplant! perfect pasta, Buffalo cheese! Formidable owner/chef, the reviews are not kidding. He has a weird personality.
